Board of Directors
|
The Board of Directors of Park Forest Cooperative is comprised of five Cooperative members who volunteer their time and talents to ensure efficient operation today and future stability of the Cooperative. Like any successful corporation, the Board of Directors must know their corporation and be willing to devote many hours to keep up with cooperative trends, legal requirements, and market expectations. This Board of Directors does these things and much more.
S. Douglas Price, President
Mr. Price has been a Director of Park Forest Cooperative for eighteen years. He is a successful insurance broker and political activist. Under his leadership the Cooperative has completed several major capital replacement and improvement projects.
Walter Gleason, Vice President
Mr. Gleason has served eight years on the board of directors. He is an administrator with the State of Illinois Department of Mental Health.
Margaret McDannel, Secretary
Mrs. McDannel has been a Park Forest Cooperative Director for thirteen years. She is the manager of a local transportation company and the President of the District 163 School Board.
Michael McGrath, Treasurer
Mr. McGrath was recently elected to the board of directors. He is an attorney practicing in the Chicago metropolitan area.
John Ostenburg, Assistant Secretary
Mr. John Ostenburg has been a Director of Park Forest Cooperative for seventeen years. He is the President of the Village of Park Forest, the editor of the newspaper published by the Chicago Teachers' Union, and the owner with his wife of a local coffee house. He has served in the Illinois State Legislature as Representative of the 80th District.

Management Staff
Tom Briggs, Manager
Tom Briggs has been associated with housing cooperatives for more than thirty years. His background in business and construction has been put to good use for more than eighteen years at Park Forest Cooperative-Birch Street Townhomes. His community service activities help keep Birch Street Townhomes in touch with the community.
Camille VanDyke, Assistant Manager
Very soon, Mrs. VanDyke is celebrating thirty five years of service to Park Forest Cooperative-Birch Street Townhomes. Her long-term of employment is a testament to her loyalty to Park Forest Cooperative. Mrs. VanDyke coordinates the Cooperative's Maintenance Department, handles a long list of administrative responsibilities, and is the management historian.
Mary Van, Administrative Assistant
Membership sales are coordinated by Mrs. Van. New Members usually have a great deal of contact with Mrs. Van from the time they first feel a spark of interest in cooperative housing, to the final closing of the purchase of a membership. Among her other responsibilities are accounts receivable and special projects.

Maintenance Staff

Todd Dickerson, General Maintenance
With more than fifteen years of service to Park Forest Cooperative-Birch Street Townhomes, Mr. Dickerson is very familiar with our buildings and grounds. Whether it's a faucet, a furnace, or a foundation, Mr. Dickerson will fix it.
Tim Van, General Maintenance
Mr. Van will also has been with Birch Street Townhomes for more than eight years. Mr. Van brings a variety of skills to his position at the Cooperative. He has extensive training and specializes in heating and air conditioning.
